About Project

Students were expected to learn according to Kodrat Alam “the nature of nature” and Kodrat Zaman “the nature of times”. This research developed science learning based on Ethno-STEM integrated ESEM-Web to improve critical thinking skills. This research integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics with local wisdom and technology in the context of sustainable development using concrete problems to be aware of existing problems and produce behavior that preserves the socio-cultural environment and can improve the ability to think critically about lifelong learning and Indonesianness

Research focus

  • Elementary school students (ages 7-12 years): developed science learning based on Ethno-STEM integrated ESEM-Web to improve students' critical thinking skills.
  • Teachers: developed teaching materials for teacher referrals related to science learning based on Ethno-STEM integrated ESEM-Web to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Research Step

This research was developed by adapting a 4D development model by Sivasailam Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel in 1974.

  • Define: observation, problem analysis, In-Dept Interview
  • Design: module design
  • Develop : validation, implementation, analysis
  • Desseminate : ESEM-Web, journal publication, Copyright registration
